EXPLOSION PROTECTION

Many of the dust and flammable particles present in industrial process facilities are explosive.  According to NFPA, any industrial process that reduces a combustible material (and even some that are not) to a fine powder or dust has a potential for a serious fire or explosion.

Certified Fire provides explosion protection systems that start the extinguishing process in very early stages of deflagration.

Combustible dust fires originating in process equipment happen regularly.  Without proper detection, isolation, ventilation, and suppression measures in conjunction with good housekeeping, these incidents will continue. Simply abiding by current combustible dust industry standards and OSHA regulations is not enough.

Explosion Protection Systems

Explosion Venting
Explosion Venting, one of the most common and effective forms of passive explosion protection, provides overpressure protection from potential industrial explosion hazards by providing a planned pathway for the expanding gases to escape.

Explosion Isolation
Explosion Isolation systems prevent the propagation of flame from one part of the process to another through the use of fast-acting explosion isolation valves and/or chemical barriers, reducing downtime and minimizing the loss of equipment and potential loss of life.

Explosion Suppression
Explosion Suppression systems are designed to detect and chemically suppress an explosion in its earliest stages before an explosion becomes a catastrophe. Unsuppressed explosion pressures can reach dangerous levels in less than 50 milliseconds - our systems respond in less than one millisecond.
